As a Southerner, I wasn't really expecting to need these - but weird weather happens! We flew home this past weekend to 11 inches of snow and had to drive home (12 miles) from the airport in an icy, slushy mess. I had these in the minivan in my emergency kit and don't think we could have safely gotten home without them.
I have always been intimidated by putting on chains, so I am completely happy with this set. They fit our tires perfectly and I wouldn't hesitate to install them myself. A lot nicer to not be driving on clankity chains, but smooth snow socks. Such a great replacement for tire chains for snow/ice.
I took a road trip to a cold snowy mountain town. Old snow melt and icy back roads. These definitely were the right choice for this scenario. I had plenty of traction and felt safer using them. Once I got home I rinsed them out and stowed them back in the car. Great technology.
Tire socks for the win!! These tire socks are awesome!! Weird concept until you try them. We put these on a manual 2007 Scion, which has really bad traction - the cost of these is much cheaper that if you get into a wreck. Highly recommend!!
